Overview

Every other year Horses Forever holds a "Member's Choice Awards," an awards celebration that nominations and votes are determined entirely by HF's memberbase. List below are the nomination categories and basic procedure for your viewing pleasure and future reference when it is time for the awards to be run.

If you have a suggestion for a category, please contact one of the officers. Originally held in 2004 and taken up again in 2007, the member awards will be held every odd year. The next awards will be held summer of 2009, then summer of 2011, and so on. The awards are also purposefully staggered between the Officer Elections, which is held every other year on even years.

The Nominations

Two to three weeks are ususally allowed for nominations and votes to be sent in to whomever is running the awards. However, the process is subject to change due to our new convenient poll features on the forum.

Only two nominations per person per category.

A member CANNOT nominate herself in a member or website category or nominate an association she owns or co-owns.

You can nominate a member for multiple categories.

If the above are not followed, the nomination(s) will not be accepted.

In determining the nominees, members/establishments that had only one nomination or ties that would make more than six entries are not included.

The Voting

Voting is held shortly after the nominations are closed and nominees determined. After the nominations, the top five nominated horses/members/establishments/websites in each category are up for voting. If five or less are nominated in a category, all are up for voting.
